The UEFA Euro 2024 kicked off at the Allianz Arena in Munich on June 14th with over 65,000 in attendance to see Scotland take on Germany. The final match of the competition is set to take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on July 14th. More than 2.7 million people are expected to attend the tournament.
There is no doubt that many hospitality operators are seeing the tournament, alongside the warming weather, as a fantastic opportunity to attract customers through their doors. The fact that matches are being played away from home in Germany will work to their advantage too, as an increased need to watch the game whilst feeling the atmosphere only created by other fans means that a trip to the local venue of choice is imperative.
Of course, with the excitement of the games, many will hold off their drinks orders for half-time to avoid missing any of the action whilst standing in a queue. However, mobile ordering and table service can prevent that. If there’s no fear of missing out as the guest doesn’t need to queue, then they’re likely to order consistently throughout the match as opposed to one round in the middle.
Mobile ordering is great for reducing queues and wait times, it’s more convenient for guests and makes their experience more enjoyable as they spend less time waiting at the bar and more time with their companions.
Mobile ordering even opens up the opportunity for loyalty schemes, a great way to get customers returning time after time to enjoy digital rewards.
Let’s hope for a fantastic Euro 2024 tournament with plenty of great results, especially for our UK hospitality industry.
